There was a common theme among the panel, in which I participate, about what not to do with your social media program. Do not be in sell, sell, sell only mode when communicating with your followers and connections. I know I still see this quite often.

The easiest way for me to remember this is– a conversation is two-way and encourages engagement by both sides. When you are in sell-only mode, there is no conversation and the engagement is very one-sided. I try to stay away from that.

What is your biggest pet peeve when it comes to social media, particularly for business?

I would love to hear your thoughts!
